Cape Elizabeth @ Greely (West B Semifinal) - W 4-0 (Game Photos)
Saturday, March 3, 2007 at Portland Ice Arena

Summary from the Portland Press Herald

Billy Bolduc finished with 33 saves and Harrison Sheldon notched a hat trick as top-ranked Greely (16-5) blanked two-time defending state champion Cape Elizabeth in a Western Class B semifinal.

The fifth-ranked Capers applied heavy pressure over the final two periods, but Bolduc stopped everything that came his way. Sheldon, meanwhile, produced most of Greely's offense with two goals in the first period and another in the second, when the Rangers extended their lead despite being outshot 19-7.

"In many ways he was the difference in the game," Greely Coach Barry Mothes said of Bolduc. "Cape had some good chances. It's not only the saves, but he also did a good job finding loose pucks around the net. And I also have to give our defensemen and forwards some credit for clearing pucks out of harm's way."

Sheldon opened the scoring at 10:44 of the first period. Leland Copenhagen passed from behind the net to Sam Blais in the right circle, and Blais sent a perfect pass across the crease to a wide-open Sheldon. Sheldon made it 2-0 less than three minutes later, pouncing on the rebound of a shot by defenseman Drew Bowden. The goal came one second after a penalty to Cape's Zach Breed expired.

Sheldon completed his hat trick at 12:45 of the second. Sam Blais again set up the goal, feeding Sheldon in the slot for a shot just under the crossbar. The Capers pulled goalie Lincoln Jordan for an extra attacker with about 3:30 remaining but couldn't break through against Bolduc. Bowden added an empty-net goal with 1:15 left.
